Hal Sherman
Hal Sherman (born Harold Sicherman; March 31, 1911 – January 25, 2009) was a gag cartoonist and a comic book artist known for his work during the Platinum Age and Golden Age. He co-created the Star-Spangled Kid with Jerry Siegel, who also co-created Superman. Sherman's cartoons appeared in magazines like College Laughs, and he created cartoon sets for cocktail napkins published by Monogram of California. Some of his notable works include the Little Friar and Nudeniks series, which he expanded into full-paperback collections in the 1960s. Additionally, he authored Alley Whoops!, Pennant Laffs, and Fishing for Laughs, which were collections of cartoons centered around bowling, humorous pennants, and fishing, respectively.
