Hank Garrett Biography
Hank Garrett (born Henry Greenberg Cohen Sandler Weinblatt; October 26, 1931) is an American actor, comedian, author, speaker, teacher, mixed martial artist, and retired professional wrestler. He is best known for his television role as Officer Nicholson on Car 54, Where Are You? Garrett was born in Harlem, New York City, to Sam and Ida Greenberg, both Jewish Russian immigrants. He began powerlifting, bodybuilding, and karate at age 13 as a means of self-protection in his rough neighborhood. Garrett won the Junior Olympic Powerlifting competition in 1958, leading to an extended career (1957-1966) as a professional wrestler under the name of The Minnesota Farm Boy. He was inducted into the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in June 2009.
