Hannah Hoekstra is a Dutch actress, born on 2 August 1987 in Rotterdam. She graduated from the Amsterdam Theatre Academy in 2010, and during her training, she appeared in the play Underground directed by Johan Simons. In 2011, she made her debut on TV, playing a small role in the TV series Flikken Maastricht. However, her breakthrough came in 2012 when she was cast in Sacha Polak's film Hemel, where she portrayed a sensual beauty with signs of hypersexuality. The film was showcased at the Berlin film festival, earning Hoekstra a special FIPRESCI prize. She received a Golden Calf Award at the Netherlands Film Festival and was nominated for a Rembrandt Award. In addition, she was honored with the Shooting Stars Award at the 67th Berlin International Film Festival.
