Harris Turner
Harris Turner (October 3, 1887 – August 12, 1972) was a Canadian journalist, soldier, publisher, and political figure in Saskatchewan. He served as a member of the Saskatchewan Legislative Assembly from 1917 to 1925, representing Saskatchewan soldiers on active service in France and Belgium, and later the city of Saskatoon. Turner was the leader of the opposition in the Assembly during the legislative sessions of 1924 and 1925. He was also a founding member of the farm newspaper, The Western Producer. Turner played an active role in the Canadian military, fighting in the battle at Sanctuary Wood in 1916 and losing his sight due to injuries. He made significant contributions to journalism, politics, and agricultural awareness throughout his career.
