Harry Reid Biography
Harry Reid (1939-2021) was an American lawyer and politician who served as a United States senator from Nevada from 1987 to 2017. He was the Senate Majority Leader from 2007 to 2015 and led the Senate Democratic Caucus from 2005 to 2017. Reid began his public career as the city attorney for Henderson, Nevada, and later served as the 25th lieutenant governor of Nevada from 1971 to 1975. He also represented Nevada's 1st district in the United States House of Representatives. Reid earned an undergraduate degree from Utah State University and a Juris Doctor degree from George Washington University. He was known for his influential role in shaping American politics and legislation.
