Heather Wilson

Heather Ann Wilson is an American politician and academic who has held numerous high-profile positions throughout her career. Born on December 30, 1960, Wilson served as the 24th Secretary of the United States Air Force from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, she was the 12th president of the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and the 11th President of the University of Texas at El Paso. Wilson made history as the first female military veteran elected to a full term in Congress, representing New Mexico's 1st congressional district from 1998 to 2009. During her tenure as Secretary of the Air Force, Wilson focused on restoring readiness and strengthening military space capabilities.
