Henry Stolow
Henry Stolow (Henrijs Stolovs/Heinrihs Stolovs; 1901-1971) was a stamp dealer and philatelic expertiser. Born in Riga, Governorate of Livonia, Russian Empire, Stolow worked as a stamp dealer in Berlin from 1920 to 1933, alongside his brother Julius Stolow. In 1936, the brothers emigrated to Brussels and later to New York, where they founded J. and H. Stolow, Wholesale Stamp Dealers, one of the world's largest stamp wholesalers until the 1970s. Stolow was known for buying and auctioning important stamp collections, including those of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, King Carol II of Romania, King Farouk of Egypt, Cardinal Francis Spellman, and Arthur Hind. He also prepared new stamp issues for postal administrations, particularly in Africa.
