Isabel Bernal
Isabel Bernal (b. 1935) is a Puerto Rican artist known for her silkscreen prints and paintings. She was born in San Sebastián, Puerto Rico and studied design, drawing, and silkscreen at Mount Mary University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Bernal further pursued her passion for painting under Osiris Delgado at the University of Puerto Rico, graduating in 1957. From 1957 to 1987, Bernal worked at the Puerto Rican Division of Community Education (DIVEDCO), where she contributed to the development of a Puerto Rican tradition of silkscreen prints and poster art. Her works can be found in prestigious collections such as the Smithsonian Institution, the Museo del Barrio, and the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico.
