Jack Abramoff Biography
Jack Abramoff is an American lobbyist, businessman, film producer, writer, and convicted felon. Born on February 28, 1959, he gained notoriety as the central figure in a corruption investigation that led to his conviction and the conviction of 21 other individuals. Among those implicated were White House officials, U.S. Representative Bob Ney, and several lobbyists and congressional aides. Abramoff previously served as the College Republican National Committee National Chairman from 1981 to 1985 and was involved with organizations such as the International Freedom Foundation and the National Center for Public Policy Research. He worked as a lobbyist for Preston Gates & Ellis and Greenberg Traurig until March 2004. Abramoff's activities in the Jack Abramoff Native American lobbying scandal and his involvement with SunCruz Casino ultimately led to his guilty plea and subsequent conviction.
