Jack Barker

Jack Barker (27 February 1906 – 20 January 1982) was an English footballer and manager. Born in Denaby, near Conisbrough, England, Barker started his football career with Denaby Rovers in the Rawmarsh League while working as a miner. Despite a thigh injury suffered at the pit, he went on to play for Derby County, where he played 327 league games. Barker also represented England, earning 11 caps. After retiring from playing, he managed both Derby County and Bradford City. Barker's contributions to football as a player and manager have left a lasting impact on the sport.
