Jack Davidson

Jack Davidson, born David John Davidson on May 10, 1875, was an Australian rules footballer who played for Melbourne and South Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Hailing from Albert Park, he had a brief three-season career as a player in the VFL before transitioning to become a boundary umpire. Davidson officiated in 44 matches, including the 1905 Grand Final, and also served as a field umpire in the 1906 season. His contributions to the sport are documented in 'The Encyclopedia of AFL Footballers' by Russell Holmesby and Jim Main, 7th edition, published by Bas Publishing.
