Jack Haley
Jack Haley (August 10, 1897 – June 6, 1979) was an American actor, comedian, dancer, radio host, singer, drummer, and vaudevillian. He gained recognition for his performance as the Tin Man and Hickory in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz. Born in 1897, Haley's father worked as a waiter and later as a ship's steward. Tragically, his father passed away in a shipwreck when Haley was just six months old. He had an older brother, William, who was a musician but sadly passed away from pneumonia at the age of twenty-one. Haley enjoyed success in vaudeville as a comedic song-and-dance performer and was close friends with Fred Allen.
