    Jack Kingston Biography
    John Heddens Kingston, born on April 24, 1955, in Bryan, Texas, is an American politician and former U.S. representative for Georgia's 1st congressional district. He served in Congress from 1993 to 2015 and was a member of the Republican Party. Kingston held various leadership positions within the House, including vice-chair of the Republican Conference from 2002 to 2006. In 2014, he ran for a U.S. Senate seat but was defeated in the runoff. Kingston obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Georgia in 1978. He is the son of Martha Ann and Albert James Kingston Jr., a university professor and co-founder of the National Reading Conference.
