Jack Morris Biography
John Scott Morris (born May 16, 1955) is an American former professional baseball starting pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) between 1977 and 1994, primarily for the Detroit Tigers. Morris won 254 games throughout his career and was known for his fastball, slider, and forkball. He was a five-time All-Star (1981, 1984, 1985, 1987, and 1991) and played on four World Series Championship teams. In the 1984 postseason, Morris went 3–0 with two complete-game victories in the World Series. In the 1991 postseason, he went 4–0, including a ten-inning complete-game victory in Game 7 of the World Series. Morris won the Babe Ruth Award in 1984 and 1991 and was named World Series MVP in 1991. He holds records for most starts, most innings pitched, and most wins by a pitcher in the 1980s.
