Jacqueline Margarete Jones is a Welsh politician, barrister, and academic. Born on February 10, 1966, she served as the Labour Party Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for Wales from 2019 to 2020. Jones has a strong background in law, having taught at Cardiff Law School and later at Bristol Law School, University of the West of England, where she held the position of Professor of Feminist Legal Studies. Throughout her career, she has focused on gender issues, migration, asylum process, human trafficking, and violence against women, all within a human rights perspective. Jones has actively worked with various equalities organizations, including Welsh Women's Aid and the National Alliance of Women's Organisations.
