    Jacob Hacker Biography
    Jacob Stewart Hacker is an American professor and political scientist currently serving as the director of the Institution for Social and Policy Studies and a professor of political science at Yale University. Born and raised in Eugene, Oregon, Hacker graduated summa cum laude from Harvard University in 1994 with a B.A. in social studies. He went on to receive his Ph.D. in political science from Yale in 2000. Hacker has authored numerous works on social policy, health care reform, and economic insecurity in the United States. He is recognized for his contributions to the health care plans of several prominent Democratic candidates, including Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and John Edwards, during the 2008 presidential election.
