Jacqueline Grennan Wexler (1926-2012), also known as Sister J, was an American Catholic religious sister and educator. She gained prominence as the President of Webster College, where she advocated for the transfer of the college's ownership to a lay board of trustees, making it the first Catholic university to legally split from the Catholic Church. Wexler later left her religious order and served as the President of Hunter College in New York City from 1970 to 1980. She also served as President of the National Conference of Christians and Jews from 1982 to 1990. Wexler, born in Illinois, grew up on a farm and became a member of the Sisters of Loretto in 1948. She held a master's degree from the University of Notre Dame and dedicated her career to education.
