Jaime Harrison
Jaime Harrison is an American attorney and politician. He was born on February 5, 1976, in Orangeburg, South Carolina and was raised by his mother, Patricia Harrison, and his grandparents. Harrison attended Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School and later received a scholarship to Yale University, where he majored in political science. After graduating in 1998, he worked as a teacher at his former high school for a year. Harrison then served as the chief operating officer of College Summit, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping low-income youth pursue higher education and career opportunities. From 2013 to 2017, he chaired the South Carolina Democratic Party, and currently serves as the chairperson of the Democratic National Committee. In 2020, Harrison ran for the South Carolina U.S. Senate seat against Lindsey Graham but was unsuccessful.
