James Andrew Walsh (20 November 1908 – 17 May 1985) was an Irish hurler. Born in Waterford, Ireland, he attended Mount Sion school in Waterford City, where he excelled academically and achieved the nation's highest score for mathematics in the Leaving Certificate exams. In the archives of the Leinster GAA, he is referred to as Jim Walsh (Civil Service) to distinguish him from other hurlers with the same name. Walsh was known for his involvement in Irish nationalism, the Irish Language Revival, and Irish sports. He had a passion for hurling and was part of the Mount Sion tradition, established by the Congregation of Christian Brothers.
