James Frey
James Frey (born September 12, 1969) is an American writer, businessman, and screenwriter. He gained initial fame with his best-selling memoirs, A Million Little Pieces (2003) and My Friend Leonard (2005), although later it was discovered that parts of the stories were exaggerated or fabricated. In addition to his memoirs, Frey is also a successful novelist, with his 2008 book Bright Shiny Morning becoming a bestseller. He is the founder and CEO of Full Fathom Five, a transmedia production company responsible for the popular young adult series 'The Lorien Legacies.' The first book of the series, I Am Number Four (2010), was made into a feature film. Frey has also written the screenplays for the films Kissing a Fool and Sugar. He currently serves as the CEO of NYXL, an esports organization based in New York. Frey was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated from Denison University in 1992 with a degree in History.
