James Hough

Sir James Hough, born on August 6, 1945, is a British physicist and a renowned figure in the field of gravitational wave research. He currently serves as a Professor of experimental physics and the Director of the Institute of Gravitational Research at the University of Glasgow. Hough is also a member of the LISA International Science Team and a delegate to the LIGO Council. In addition, he chairs the Education, Training and Careers Committee and the Fellowships Panel of the Science and Technology Facilities Council. Hough's contributions have been widely recognized, including his election as a Fellow of the Royal Society in 2003 and receiving the prestigious Duddell Medal and Prize from the Institute of Physics in 2004.
