James McMenamin Biography
James Hugh McMenamin (26 May 1910 – 13 August 2000) was a cricket umpire who officiated at Test level. Born in Paddington, New South Wales in 1910, McMenamin played rugby league in the NSWRFL for University, Balmain, and Newtown while studying at the University of Sydney. During the Second World War, he served in the South African Army in Europe and was awarded a Military Cross for his service in Italy. From 1956 to 1960, McMenamin umpired 10 first-class cricket matches, including four Tests. He passed away in Balgowlah, New South Wales in 2000.
