James Naughtie Biography
James Naughtie (born August 9, 1951) is a British radio and news presenter. He gained prominence as one of the main presenters of Radio 4's the Today programme from 1994 to 2015. Naughtie has anchored every BBC Radio UK election results programme since 1997 and has covered every US presidential election since 1988. Born in Milltown of Rothiemay, Scotland, Naughtie was educated at Keith Grammar School, the University of Aberdeen, and Syracuse University in New York. He began his career as a journalist in 1975 and worked for various publications such as Aberdeen Press & Journal and The Scotsman before joining The Washington Post as the Laurence Stern fellow in 1981.
