    Jan Vogler Biography
    Jan Vogler (born February 18, 1964) is a German-born classical cellist. He began his cello studies with his father Peter Vogler and went on to study with Josef Schwab, Heinrich Schiff, and Siegfried Palm. At the age of 20, Vogler became the principal cellist of the Staatskapelle Dresden, making him the youngest player to hold that position in the history of the orchestra. In 1997, he left the orchestra to pursue a solo career and relocated to New York City with his wife, violinist Mira Wang. Vogler gained attention for his collaboration with actor Bill Murray in a musical recital called 'New Worlds', which was recorded for Decca Records. He has also performed as a soloist and chamber musician internationally.
