Jane McGrath Biography
Jane Louise McGrath (née Steele; 4 May 1966 – 22 June 2008), an English-born Australian cancer support campaigner, was known for her work in the field of community health. McGrath, married to former Australian cricket fast bowler Glenn McGrath, became a prominent advocate for breast cancer awareness after her own battle with the disease. Born in Paignton, Devon, she worked as a flight attendant for Virgin Atlantic before marrying Glenn in 1999. McGrath received Australian citizenship in 2002 and was awarded the Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2008 for her contributions to community health and the establishment of the McGrath Foundation. Despite her battle with breast cancer, she continued to inspire others through her activism until her passing in 2008.
