Jane Wilson

Jane Wilson (April 29, 1924 – January 13, 2015) was an American painter known for her association with landscape painting and expressionism. Born in Seymour, Iowa, she grew up on a farm during the Great Depression. Wilson credited her deep connection to the natural elements to her upbringing in Iowa, where she would roam around and observe the weight of the sky and the specific light of certain places. She lived and worked in New York City and Water Mill, New York. Wilson's interest in landscape painting translated into her artistic career, where she captured the essence of the natural world in her works.
