Janet McLuckie Brown (14 December 1923 – 27 May 2011) was a Scottish actress, comedian, and impressionist. Born in Rutherglen, Lanarkshire, she gained considerable fame in the 1970s and 1980s for her impersonations of Margaret Thatcher. Brown started her career in British film in 1948 and appeared in notable films such as 'Folly to Be Wise' (1952). She also made appearances in British television series like 'The Eric Barker Half-Hour' (1952) and 'Friends and Neighbours' (1954). Brown was married to Peter Butterworth, known for his roles in the Carry On films, until his death in 1979. She served in the Auxiliary Territorial Service during World War II and was the first female performer to participate in Stars in Battledress.
