Janette Luu
Janette N. Luu is a Vietnamese-American broadcaster known for her role as Toronto's first-ever Vietnamese TV news anchor. Born on March 18, 1976, in Big Spring, Texas, Luu's parents immigrated to the United States from Vietnam in 1975. She attended Haley Elementary and Blackhawk Middle School before graduating as valedictorian from Snider High School. Luu gained recognition for co-anchoring the school's weekly television show, Panther's Pause. Despite her parents' expectations for her to pursue a medical degree, Luu pursued a career in broadcasting. She hosted the local TV program CANOE Live on Sun TV in Toronto until October 2009. Janette Luu is a prominent figure in Vietnamese-American broadcasting.
