Jeff Hoover

Jeff Hoover (born January 18, 1960) is an American politician and member of the Republican Party of Kentucky. He graduated from Centre College in 1982 and Cumberland School of Law in 1987. Hoover has represented the 83rd district in the Kentucky House of Representatives since 1996. He served as House Minority Caucus Chair in 1999 and House Minority Leader from 2001 to 2017. In 2007, he ran for Lieutenant Governor of Kentucky as Anne Northup's running mate. In 2015, Hoover became the longest-serving Republican Leader in the history of the Kentucky House of Representatives. After the 2016 elections, he became the House Speaker, the first Republican to hold the position in 95 years.
