Jeh Johnson

Jeh Charles Johnson, also known as Jay, is an American lawyer and former government official. Born on September 11, 1957, in New York City, Johnson has had an extensive career in public service. He served as the United States Secretary of Homeland Security from 2013 to 2017 and was the general counsel of the Department of Defense from 2009 to 2012. Prior to his government roles, Johnson worked as a federal prosecutor, general counsel of the Department of the Air Force, and attorney in private practice. Currently, he is a partner at the law firm Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison and serves on the boards of directors of Lockheed Martin, U.S. Steel, and MetLife. Johnson is also a trustee of Columbia University.
