Jennifer Ashton

Jennifer Lee Garfein Ashton (born April 23, 1969) is a physician, author, and television correspondent. She is the chief health and medical editor and chief medical correspondent for ABC News and Good Morning America. Dr. Ashton is also the chief women's health correspondent for The Dr. Oz Show and a columnist for Cosmopolitan Magazine. She regularly appears on the ABC daytime program GMA3: What You Need to Know. With a background in medicine, Dr. Ashton is a frequent guest speaker and moderator for events focused on women's health issues. She was born in Victorville, California to parents in the medical field and attended Horace Mann School in New York City before earning her bachelor's degree in art history from Columbia University in 1991.
