    Jeremias Chitunda Biography
    Jeremias Kalandula Chitunda (February 20, 1942 – November 2, 1992) was an Angolan politician and served as the Vice President of UNITA, a political party in Angola. He was born in Chimbuelengue and attended various schools including Chimbuelengue and Dondi Mission school in Bela Vista, João de Castro College, and the Huambo National Secondary School. Chitunda received a scholarship to study mining engineering at the University of Arizona. He joined UNITA in 1966 and held various positions within the party, including serving as its representative to the U.S. southwest and becoming the Vice President in 1986. Chitunda was assassinated in Luanda in 1992, shortly after the presidential election held in September.
