Jerry Jarrett Biography
Jerry Winston Jarrett (September 4, 1942 – February 14, 2023) was an American businessman, professional wrestling promoter, and professional wrestler. Alongside Jerry Lawler, he played a significant role in the development of professional wrestling in the Mid-Southern United States. Jarrett founded the Continental Wrestling Association in Memphis in 1977, later merging it with World Class Championship Wrestling to form the United States Wrestling Association in 1989. He co-founded NWA:TNA in 2002 with his son Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett's contributions to the wrestling industry earned him induction into the National Wrestling Alliance Hall of Fame in 2009.
