Jerry Chih-Yuan Yang, born November 6, 1968, is a Taiwanese-American billionaire computer programmer, internet entrepreneur, and venture capitalist. He is best known as the co-founder and former CEO of Yahoo! Inc, a multinational technology company. Yang started Yahoo! in 1994 alongside his classmate David Filo. After relocating to the United States from Taipei, Taiwan, Yang took the American name Jerry and became fluent in English within three years. With a net worth of $2.5 billion as of July 2023, Yang has achieved significant success in the tech industry. He attended Piedmont Hills High School and further pursued his education at Stanford University, where he earned a degree in electrical engineering.
