Jim Abrahams Biography
James S. Abrahams (born May 10, 1944) is an American film director and writer. He is best known for his work as a member of Zucker, Abrahams, and Zucker, the team behind popular spoof movies. Abrahams was born to a Jewish family in Shorewood, Wisconsin and attended Shorewood High School. He co-wrote and produced movies like Airplane! and The Naked Gun series, earning a BAFTA Award nomination for Best Screenplay. Abrahams also directed films independently, such as Big Business, and further showcased his parody skills in Hot Shots! and its sequel. Alongside his wife Nancy, Abrahams co-founded The Champaign ILL Company, a production company focused on creating educational films.
