Jim Sheppard

James Patrick Sheppard (born May 8, 1961) is an American musician. He is best known as the bassist and founding member of the progressive metal band, Nevermore, and its predecessor, Sanctuary. Sheppard and lead vocalist Warrel Dane were certified chefs and previously owned an Italian restaurant in Seattle. In 2020, Sheppard married Priscila Sheppard, a Brazilian national. Sheppard underwent a successful operation in 2011 to remove a benign brain tumor. Following Dane's death in 2017, Sheppard started a musical project called Dead Heart Collective, where he plays the guitar. Sheppard has contributed to notable albums such as 'Refuge Denied' (1987), 'Dead Heart in a Dead World' (2000), and 'The Year the Sun Died' (2014).
