Jimmy Dorsey (February 29, 1904 – June 12, 1957) was an American jazz clarinetist, saxophonist, composer, and big band leader. He gained fame as a member of the Dorsey Brothers Orchestra, along with his younger brother Tommy Dorsey. Jimmy recorded and composed several jazz and pop standards, including 'I'm Glad There Is You (In This World of Ordinary People)' and 'It's The Dreamer In Me'. His notable recordings include 'Tailspin', 'John Silver', 'So Many Times', 'Amapola', and 'Pennies from Heaven'. He also played clarinet on the renowned jazz standards 'Singin' the Blues' and 'Georgia on My Mind', both inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. Jimmy Dorsey was born in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania, United States.
