Jimmy Garcia

Jimmy Garcia (October 12, 1971 – May 19, 1995) was a Colombian boxer. He is best known for his fight against Gabriel Ruelas, where he lost the WBC super featherweight title. Tragically, Garcia passed away 13 days later due to brain damage sustained in the match. This defeat to Ruelas marked the only stoppage loss in Garcia's career. Prior to the Ruelas fight, Garcia had already experienced an unsuccessful title shot, losing to Genaro Hernández by unanimous decision. Despite the criticism surrounding his corner's decision-making, Garcia's legacy remains in his contributions to the sport as a former Colombian Featherweight champion.
