Joan Gerber Biography
Joan Gerber (July 29, 1935 – August 22, 2011) was an American voice actress known for her work in various cartoons. She provided voices for a wide range of characters, including Freddy the Flute in H.R. Pufnstuf and the Queen of Oz in Dorothy in the Land of Oz. Gerber's most challenging voice role was portraying 'all the children in a Japanese train wreck' for a Godzilla television episode. She also voiced a syndicated series of radio spots called 'The Story Lady,' which parodied children's programming. Gerber was admired for her talent and possessed a splendid singing voice. She passed away on August 22, 2011, at the age of 76.
