Joan Juliet Buck is an American writer and actress, born in 1948. She is known for her work as the editor-in-chief of French Vogue from 1994 to 2001, making her the only American to have ever held that position at a French magazine. Buck has also been a contributing editor to Vogue and Vanity Fair, and currently writes for Harper's Bazaar. In addition to her career in journalism, Buck is the author of two novels and a memoir titled 'The Price of Illusion,' published in 2017. She was nominated for the Pushcart Prize in 2020 for her short story 'Corona Diary.' Buck comes from a family with connections to the film industry, as her father was a film producer and her mother was a model, actress, and interior designer.
