Joanna Coles

Joanna Louise Coles is a British-American journalist and media executive. Born on April 20, 1962, she became well-known for her work in the magazine industry. Coles started her career at The Spectator and later joined The Guardian and The Times. In 2006, she became the editor-in-chief of Marie Claire magazine, followed by serving as the editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan from 2012 to 2016. Coles' contributions to journalism have been recognized with prestigious awards, including a National Magazine Award for a guide to contraception and a Matrix Award for Women in Communication. In 2016, she became the chief content officer for Hearst Magazines, a position she held until 2018.
