Joanne Wilson

Joanne Wilson (born 1961) is an American businesswoman and angel investor. After graduating from Simmons College in Boston, Wilson began her career at Macy's before moving on to oversee a company in the garment industry. She then worked in sales for the startup magazine and events company Silicon Alley Reporter. In addition, Wilson chaired the nonprofit organization MOUSE, which focused on technology in inner-city schools. In 2007, she began investing and also runs the entrepreneurship blog Gotham Gal. Through her investment fund, Gotham Gal Ventures, Wilson and her husband fund startups. Known for backing female-founded companies, Wilson co-founded and co-chaired the annual Women's Entrepreneur Festival in 2010.
