John Colicos Biography
John Colicos (December 10, 1928 – March 6, 2000) was a Canadian actor known for his work on stage and television in the United States and Canada. Born in Toronto, Ontario to a Greek father and Canadian mother, Colicos began his acting career with the Canadian Art Theatre before joining the Montreal Repertory Theatre. He won a Dominion Drama Festival award and was named best actor at the 1951 festival. Colicos worked briefly at the Old Vic company in England and appeared in CBC dramas on CBC Radio. He also had notable stage appearances in New York, including Mary Stuart, King Lear, The Devils, Serjeant Musgrave's Dance, and Soldiers.
