John S. Ragin
John Stanley Ragin (May 5, 1929 - April 14, 2013) was an American television and film actor. He is best known for his role as Dr. Robert Asten, M.E. in the TV series Quincy, M.E. (1976–83). Ragin was born in Newark, New Jersey and attended Rutgers University before transferring to Carnegie Tech. He received two grants from the Fulbright Program to study in Europe. Ragin appeared in supporting roles in various television series such as Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Invaders, Cannon, McCloud, Murder, She Wrote, and Star Trek: The Next Generation. He also had small roles in films like Earthquake, The Parallax View, and Doctors' Wives. Ragin played Walter Cramer in the 1974 CBS TV series Sons and Daughters and had a short stint on the soap opera Santa Barbara in 1990-91. He passed away in Los Angeles at the age of 83.
