Johnnie Lee Cochran Jr. (October 2, 1937 – March 29, 2005) was an American attorney known for his leading role in the defense and acquittal of O.J. Simpson in the high-profile murder trial of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. He represented a number of high-profile clients, including Sean Combs, Michael Jackson, and Tupac Shakur. Cochran was also an advocate for victims of police brutality and represented individuals such as Reginald Oliver Denny and Geronimo Pratt. Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, Cochran gained prominence for his courtroom skills and his use of rhymes, such as 'If it doesn't fit, you must acquit!,' during the Simpson trial.
