Johnny Austin

Johnny Austin (December 23, 1910 – February 14, 1983) was an American jazz trumpeter from Vineland, New Jersey. He gained recognition for his skills as a trumpeter and his contributions to the Glenn Miller Orchestra. After leaving the band in 1939, Austin went on to form his own orchestra, known as the Johnny Austin Orchestra, in 1947. He collaborated with renowned musician Jan Savitt and his trumpet playing can be heard on several recordings. Throughout his career, Austin showcased his talent and passion for jazz, leaving a lasting impact on the music industry. He passed away on February 14, 1983.
