Johnny Gill Jr. (born May 22, 1966) is an American singer and songwriter. He is known as the sixth and final member of the R&B/pop group New Edition and was a member of the supergroup LSG, alongside Gerald Levert and Keith Sweat. Gill has released eight solo albums, three albums with New Edition, two albums with LSG, and one collaborative album with Stacy Lattisaw. With a successful career spanning several decades, Gill has sold over 15 million copies worldwide as a solo artist. Born in Washington, D.C., Gill began singing at a young age and honed his skills in church and through his family gospel group. He attended various schools in D.C., including the Duke Ellington School of the Arts.
