Johnny Young (born Johnny Benjamin de Jong; 12 March 1947) is a Dutch Australian singer, composer, record producer, disc jockey, television producer, and host. He gained popularity as a 1960s pop singer with a number-one hit single, 'Step Back' and a cover of the Strangeloves' 'Cara-lyn.' Young also hosted the TV pop music program, The Go!! Show, during the same period. He toured with the Rolling Stones and supported Roy Orbison. As a composer, Young wrote number-one hits for artists like Russell Morris, Ross D. Wyllie, and Lionel Rose. He is best known for presenting and producing the TV show, Young Talent Time, which aired from 1971 to 1988 and launched the careers of several teen pop stars and theater actors.
