Jonathan Dawson
Jonathan Dawson (24 November 1941 – 10 August 2013) was an Australian academic, filmmaker, film and literary critic, and broadcaster. Born in Melbourne, he graduated with honors in English from Melbourne University. Dawson's talents extended to acting and playwriting, winning awards and recognition for his work. He published numerous poems and short stories and became known as a poetry performer, often accompanied by guitarist Glen Tomassetti. Dawson's career in broadcasting began at the Australian Broadcasting Commission, where he directed radio dramas, education programs, and documentaries. He later joined Crawford Productions as a writer and director for TV serials such as Homicide and Division 4, and eventually moved to the Nine Network in Sydney.
