Joseph Harmon

Joseph F. Harmon is a Guyanese politician who served as Leader of the Opposition from 2020 to 2022. Prior to this role, he held the position of Director-General of the Ministry of the Presidency during the David Granger administration. Born in Pouderoyen, West Demerara, Harmon has a background as a former Lt. Col in the Guyana Defence Force and attorney at law. In June 2021, Harmon faced a motion of no confidence due to his claims regarding the outcome of the 2020 General election. He has yet to meet with Guyana's President, Irfaan Ali, who refuses to engage until Harmon acknowledges the legitimacy of the government.
